A medical practitioner specialized in obstetrics and gynaecology is known as gynaecologist. In short, these physicians are known as (OB/GYN). Their workspace is vast. Not only they treat the complicated issues of female reproductive system but also deliver newborns at times. Requirements to become a gynaecologist

  • The first step to be a top gynaecologist is proper education. Graduation followed by a doctorate degree in medicine is important. The completion time to get a medical degree is 4 years.
  • Then starts the training following the successful completion of medical degree. In this training, they have to assist senior doctors to get a practical life experience of gynaecologist’s profession. Clinical training during residency will include all aspects of outpatient and inpatient. Here they get used to gynaecology and obstetrics, gynaecology surgeries which includes fibroid removal, etc. Many students also obtain additional post-residency training in subspecialty such as reproductive endocrinology or gynaecology oncology which completes in 3 years.
  • After passing the MD degree and training completed these physicians require earning a license to practice medicine independently. This certification or license can be obtained by giving an application to the state where the medical college is located. Many OB/GYN seek this certification from ABOG (American Board of Obstetrics and Gynaecology). A board test of 2 days should be given during the certification process.
  • After completing the whole process now an individual is called a proper gynaecology or obstetrician. But to be a best rated gynaecologist one should own some necessary skills and qualities. Highly variable work schedules should be maintained. During any stressful situation of surgeries, he should work thoughtfully with skill. Under pressure they should maintain good manner and well behaved.

It is indeed important to be spot on with regards to the coverage policy on the insurance aspect.
